With Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you have two deployment options: on-premise or on-demand. This gives you the opportunity to choose the deployment model which best works for your current business needs whilst reserving the option to change from one to the other as your business requirements change.
On-premise systems are purchased by you and installed internally on your premises. This suits organisations that want to retain local control and configuration with their existing infrastructure. It also removes any security concerns around sharing critical data.
On-demand systems will be hosted by Cerulean. This means you do not initially ‘own’ the software – you can acquire it at a later stage if it suits your circumstances – and you don’t have to consider internal deployment issues or support costs. You can also gain access to new functionality quickly and without having to make an upfront capital investment.
